What do the Monsters Look Like?

Monsters - N

Nasty-Looking Man This odious stranger reeks of alcohol, and is covered in a grizzy growth of facial hair. He has a cheap-looking eyepatch, and sports numerous scars. His shifty gaze continually scans the area, and if there is one word to describe him, it is "seedy".

The nasty-looking man glances up at your approach, and peers at you with his one good eye. After a moment, he spits on the ground, gives you a nasty leer, and whispers:

"Would ye perhaps be lookin' for a bit o' nasty adventure, me hearty? If this be the case, perhaps we can come to some sort o' arrangement, as I fer sure have somethin' that would be profitable to ye."

Nathaniel This tall, stocky man greets you with a welcoming smile. He has a lined, careworn face and sports drooping mustaches that hang down past his chin. He gestures towards his array of weaponry with a sweeping motion.
The shopkeeper says, "Welcome, friend. It is always a refreshing sight to see another adventurer beginning his career! Please have a look at my fine selection of weaponry, although if you are anything like the average newcomer, you are no doubt flat broke. In that case, I have simple wooden quarterstaves for use until you acquire enough money to buy a fine steel weapon. Just take a look at my STOCK and pick something you like!"
Necromancer Ragged black robes are wrapped around the skeletally-thin form of the necromancer. Not quite dead but certainly not living, he exists between the realm of life and death, transforming all he meets into leathery-skinned zombies who serve him.
Nekojin This well-dressed creature greatly ressembles a bipedal cat, with long tufted ears and beautiful oval eyes. It stands about five feet tall, and sports a ferocious smile that is somewhat unsettling, despite the creature's apparent good mood.
With a twinkle in its eye, the Nekojin bows to you, and goes on its way.
Nejokin Elder This short, fierce Nekojin is garbed in simple white robes, and is gnarled with age. Despite this, he has a piercing gaze and an aura of power that is unmistakeable.

Nekojin Guardian This well-dressed creature greatly ressembles a bipedal cat, with long tufted ears and beautiful oval eyes. It is larger and more powerfully-built than most, and has a deadly grace that is notable, even for its race.
The nekojin acknowledges your greeting with a cautious nod.
Nekojin Priestess This well-dressed creature greatly ressembles a bipedal cat, with long tufted ears and beautiful oval eyes. She is garbed in flowing white hooded robes, but wears the hood down. Her gaze is steady and unwavering, and you get the impression that she knows much.
Nekojin Traveler This well-dressed creature greatly resembles a bipedal cat, with long tufted ears and beautiful oval eyes. It stands about five feet tall, and sports a ferocious smile that is somewhat unsettling, despite the creature's apparent good mood.

The Nekojin greets you with a short bow and a flash of sharp teeth. In a strangely-accented dialect, he says:

"May you find shade, fellow wanderer. It is my privilege and honour to be able to travel through this fine land. So different than my homeland, which is a sandy waste, though I love it nonetheless. Alas, I wish that my time here was for recreation, as I would relish such extravagances as shadowed forests and secluded pools. My mission here is of some urgency, though I doubt you would be concerned of such matters."

Nexus Hunter This tall, forbidding figure is garbed in a strange assortment of shimmering multi-colored clothing, in contrast to its ebony skin. In one hand, it wields a gleaming metal disc, and as it stalks through the wasteland you witness its catlike grace.
The nexus hunter grins savagely at you, exposing shiny pointed teeth
Night Hag This hideous creature appears to be a twisted, hunchbacked woman with long, greasy black hair and dark glittering eyes. She is garbed in a coarse black robe, and iron bracelets rattle around her bony wrists. In one hand she grasps an old skull-headed wand.
The night hag grins toothily as you speak to her. She interrupts you with a shrill cackle, and waves her hand at you menacingly!
Ninja Spirit Before you stands a tall, lean half-orc, wearing full black ninja armor. Twin short swords swing by his side, and his hood is pulled low over his eyes. Despite his unsettling appearance, he manages a short bow at your approach, and motions you closer.
The ninja spirit greets you with a bow, saying "Welcome young one. Thy travels have brought thee far, to find me in this cursed tomb where I am bound. The dark one was cruel indeed to keep my spirit in this plane after we were vanquished, but even in defeat there can be hope. I have little left to offer, save my experiences fighting the unnamed one. My skill is thine to learn from, and I would gladly train thee to the next level of advancement. One more thing I can offer you: seek the old one in the heart of the darkenwood, he alone lived through the Great Wars, and he alone has mastery enough to provide thee with the necessary learning you shall surely need in the future."
Nomad This peaceful nomad wanders the desert, simply seeking to live in solitude. Usually hired by merchants to transport objects from place to place, he also sells water for those who are in dire need.

The nomad smiles at you and bows, saying:

"Greetings, fellow traveler. I notice you are strangers to this land, and I must warn you, it is not friendly to outsiders. I may offer you some water if you have gold to pay for it."

Nomadic Chieftain This heavily built humanoid is garbed from head to toe in various animal skins. In his right hadn he carries a staff etched with several tribal sigils, and is crowned in what appears to be ceremonial headgear. A faint blue aura surrounds his body.
Nomadic Huntsman This large humanoid is garbed from head to toe in various animal skins. He carries a shield made from animal hides in one hand and a beaten sabre in the other, a tell-tale sign of years of experience. You notice several small ivory daggers strapped to his left leg.
Nomadic Shaman This figure is dressed in several ceremonial shamanic robes of an unknown order. Most of the symbols are naturally made, suggesting a druidic alignment. He carries a twisted oak staff in one hand, and several small pouches attached to his belt.
Nomadic Tribesman This large humanoid is garbed in soft white pelts. His headgear consists of several large roc feathers, which hang droopily from the top of his head. He carries a large club, spiked with several fangs, possibly from the mountain cats that inhabit this area.
