ask grey missions
The eyes of the Grey Lord seem to stare at you for an eternity, before his voice echos through the caverns of your mind:
<Very well young one, I do have a mission of the utmost importance, it seems like a simple one but it will test you in many ways.>
Then the voice goes silent, and with a slight wave of his hand an image appears in front of you. The image is that of grey scale, one side the scale cup is bright white, and on the other side the cup is darkness blacker then a starless night. The scale itself is that of a dull grey color.
The lord's voice echos in your head:
<Humor me for a moment young one, for I must show you the importance of this mission, but I must start simple.>Suddenly the scales go in motion, each side trying to gain weight over the other, the scales dip and toss and you almost think they will topple, until the greyness seems to move towards each side, constantly keeping them in an uneasy balance, as you watch your head is filled with the Grey Lord's voice.
<As you know this is the present way the forces of good and evil are kept in balance, through our efforts no side gains weight over the other. This is the way it has always been and the way it should always stay, however...>
Suddenly a small black splotch appears on the scales, slowly the splotch begins to grow and spreads like a cancerous growth to cover the scales entirely, until finally consuming the entire thing the scales disentigrate. Then the voice continues:
<A threat of great substance has appeared from nothingness. It concerns me that I was unable to detect it until so I can only assume a cloaking method of some kind. However, now that it is making itself apparent I sense incredible evil within it, of much greater magnitude then Balthazar could ever hope to achieve. This is a malevolence that cares not about the Balance, or this realm for that fact, it is of something that could very well destroy this world.>
With that the voice goes silent for a moment, allowing you to sink in what it has just told you.
ask grey threat
Suddenly the eyes of the Grey Lord glow a bright emerald green then they flash, and all you see is bright green and nothing else. His voice echos loudly in your mind, making you grow dizzy.
<And now I task you young one, find this black force, and destroy it at whatever costs, for the sake of every living good or evil thing in the realm, the balance that must be sustained!>
His voice quiets some and you find your vision returns, he waves his hand and you see the image of a waterfall, with a silversilk net across the edge.
<As you should recognize this is the waterfall on the edge of the Silvermere river, your quest starts there, continue on as you can, and return to me when the force has been destroyed. I can tell you no more, except the power resides somewhere deep, in a volcano, or somewhere similar. I wish you well on your travel and await your return.>
As the last syllable leaves your head a great green portal opens before you and you are immediately sucked in......
greet wounded
The wounded sailor cowers in the corner "By the maiden of the sea I beg ye duna keel me!" he says in utter terror. "I tells ya all I new is thars a manster crab down there, its bloody the size of the great Kraken!" he starts to get a wild look in his eyes and stares off into space. "Wait Queeg!" he screams "Dont go through..." he pauses and starts to shiver uncontrollably. "No! Ceannibal women! Black Magic! The crab, gads the crab!" He starts mumbling softer, then begins to cry "I couldna help me mates I just couldna!" He curls up into a ballgibbering softly to himself.greet Seher'Sahham
Seher'Sahham says, "Hello there adventurer, you seem to be quite a ways from your home. I imagine you are here to use my water portal. It is quite the marvel of magic isn't it. The mages of Cirgathil told you of it didn't they? Such a jealous bunch they are always in competition with each other as to who's magic is more powerful, having summoning contests that last for days. Transportation is where the real magic is my child. It doesn't matter how powerful you are if you can't get anywhere to do anything with it."ask Seher'Sahham water portal
"Ahhh yes the water portal. I'm not quite sure where it takes you but it gets you there quickly none the less. It took me years to build it and I alone know the workings of its magic. I'm a reasonable man though and seeing as I haven't been home for over 500 years I'm sure my wife has sold off all my belongings. So for a small fee to help a poor old man out I'd be more then willing to help you pass through the portal."ask Seher'Sahham fee
"How nice of you to offer to help my poor old soul. When I left I knew times were getting tougher, though you look like you haven't suffered much, so I'll only take a small amount. In fact I feel so nice I'll only charge you 10,000 gold. I know you would like to give me more but I'm sure there are other charities you are looking to give your money too. If you have the money on you just ask me to activate the portal and you will be through and there in the blink of an eye. By the dirt you wear I'd say you were from that small fishing village across the river from my home, if you would like I could you even send you home to your village, and since I'm sending you to such a backwater place I wouldn't even feel right about charging you."ask Seher'Sahham activate
You rise through the air, and pass through the barrier of water!Continue on, killing fire knights, the red demonling, and lesser efreetis. Then, kill the Dark Phoenix. After you kill him, you will see this message:
With the fatal blow to the dark phoenix, the massive bird shattering cry that bounces off the stone walls. Fire shoots out from the bird on all sides, and you have to take cover to avoid being burned.
Finally the dying bird is almost consumed when it suddenly explodes in a flash, leaving only bits of darkened feather behind. As the feathers fall to the ground, a tall figure dressed in black robes, carrying a bleached bone staff, appears in front of you, at first you are stricken with fear, for the robed figure could be a replica of the grim reaper. Then he speaks and you realize he is something more terrifying.
"I know not who sent you weakling, but tell them that they can not avoid my wrath," the figure says, in a voice that sounds like a crypt opening. A long boney finger stretches out from the folds of the robe, and points towards you.
"I have prophesised my return, and your meddeling has done nothing but bring it closer to hand, this realm will be plunged into darkness, and I shall be ruler of death!"
The figure then vanishes, leaving only a smell of decay behind.
<Congratulations you have slain the dark phoenix! You gain 2,000,000 experience for your efforts. Now return to your quest leader!>
ask grey destroyed
The Grey Lord is sitting quietly on his throne.
You approach the impassive form of the Grey Lord to tell him of your journey, when his voice speaks in your mind.
<You need not speak young one, I've already read your thoughts, and know of your difficult journey, the final end with the dark bird, and the figure of prophecy. This is certainly an intriguing turn to say the least.>
The Grey Lord waves his hand and a bundle of cloth appears at your feet. His voice echos in your head once more.
<I thank you for your efforts, the cancer is still at large, but I now know where to focus my efforts now. Take this cloak as a rememberance of your service to me. It has some magical abilities that I believe will serve you well. Now I must retire and search through the history of this realm to find this prophecy the figure in black speaks of. Return to me later for I may have useful information at that time.>
The voice leaves your mind, and the Grey Lord sits silently on his throne.
