Wandering Cleric This tall, noble-looking woman is garbed in fine chainmail Armour. A long warhammer hangs by her side, and draped over her Armour is a tabard with a strange crest of four symbols: a torch, a sword, a bolt of lightning, and a tear.
The cleric smiles at you cautiously as you hail her. "Greetings, friend and fellow traveler. Peace to thee and thine own. Mayest I offer thee mine services, if thou'rt sickly or harmed? A modest fee, I must charge, to cover the expenses of daily life. Aerdwyne provides nourishment fo the spirit; I must take of the body on my own." She grins at her own jest.
War Dog This massively-muscled beast stands fully four feet tall at the shoulder. It has a maw filled with curved, razor-sharp teeth, claws like steel, and a rabid fury to match. Around its neck it wears a thick spiked iron collar.
The war dog roars in fury!
Warlock Bandit This sleazy-looking brigand wears rigid leather Armour, and wields a longsword with competence. Waving free hand in arcane gestures, he advances!
The warlock bandit grins evilly at you, and eyes your purse!
Warlock Mercenary This tall, well-built man wears rigid leather Armour, and a curved sword hangs by his side. He looks confident, and if his hard, calculating gaze is anything to go by, this confidence is well-founded.
Warlock Spirit Before you stands the image of a gnarled, aged gnome with a long white beard. He wears rigid battle leathers, and a short pointed sword hangs by his side.
The warlock spirit greets you with a bow, saying "Welcome young one. Thy travels have brought thee far, to find me in this cursed tomb where I am bound. The dark one was cruel indeed to keep my spirit in this plane after we were vanquished, but even in defeat there can be hope. I have little left to offer, save my experiences fighting the unnamed one. My skill is thine to learn from, and I would gladly train thee to the next level of advancement. One more thing I can offer you: seek the old one in the heart of the darkenwood, he alone lived through the Great Wars, and he alone has mastery enough to provide thee with the necessary learning you shall surely need in the future."
Warrior Spirit Before you stands the shimmering figure of a kang warrior, Armoured in glittering plate mail. Twin broadswords hang from his back, and as you look him up and down, he bows slightly. With a shock, you recognize him as one of the old Heroes of Silvermere!

Water Elemental The water elemental is extremely difficult to notice, as it is only barely visible in any body of water. It flows about rapidly, able to change its shape and to deliver powerful blows with its watery limbs. Elementals are also known to sometimes command elemental magics.
The water elemental completely ignores you.
Water Spirit This partially-transparent creature has no defined form, but is comprised of swirling waters and icy shapes. A palpable presence of intelligence accompanies it, and although it has no mouth, has no problem making its intentions known.
Wererat This shifty-eyed creature looks like a cross between a rat and a human. It stands five feet tall on its two legs, and in its clawed hands it grips a wide-bladed sword. Wererats are immune to all poisons and to the disease which they pass on wherever they go.
The wererat hisses at you through sharp, yellowed teeth, saying "Nasssty intruder, food for worms soon will be."
Wererat Champion This tall, muscular wererat is garbed in an assortment of half-plate Armour, and wields a heavy greatsword with ease and skill. It leers cruelly at you from beneath its iron helm, and moves with grace and speed despite the heavy Armour.
The wererat hisses at you through sharp, yellowed teeth, saying "Nasssty intruder, food for worms soon will be."
Wererat Emissary This tall, muscular wererat is garbed in an assortment of half-plate armour, and wields a heavy greatsword with ease and skill. It leers cruelly at you from beneath its iron helm, and moves with grace and speed despite the heavy armour.
The wererat hisses at you through sharp, yellowed teeth, saying "Nasssty intruder, food for worms soon will be."
Wererat Plague-Crafter This nasty-looking wererat is garbed in a swath of black robes. An aura of pure evil radiates from it, and the crafty look of lunacy in its eyes only adds to its crazed appearance. Flasks of a strange liquid hang from its belt, and in one hand it wields a heavy sickle.
The wererat hisses at you through sharp, yellowed teeth, saying "Nasssty intruder, food for worms soon will be."
Wererat Shaman This shifty-eyed creature looks like a cross between a rat and a human. It stands five feet tall on its two legs, and in its clawed hands it grips a short, iron-knobbed staff. Bags of ritual talismans and grisly spell components hang from its belt.
The wererat hisses at you through sharp, yellowed teeth, saying "Nasssty intruder, food for worms soon will be."
Werewolf This lithe, well-built figure is completely covered in shaggy, reddish hair. Its long arms sport wicked-looking curved claws. A heavy helm crafted in the shape of a wolf's head conceals its facial features, but the glint of red eyes and shining fangs can be seen.
The werewolf growls at you menacingly!
Whipvine 1 & 2 Dozens of long, inch thick, vines dotted with thin needle like spikes jut out from a central spot in the earth. As you approach they spring to life in a whirling dervish of chaos and destruction attempting to rip apart anything within reach.
White Dragon Serpent This eight-foot-long serpentine creature resembles an ivory white anaconda, except that it has an evil-looking dragon's head. It has long sharp fangs and short curved horns, and it radiates an aura of extreme cold.
The white dragon serpent hisses at the sound of your voice!
White Jelly This is a large, lumpy, quivering blob of what appears to be oozing white jelly. An acrid stink wafts from its blubbery mass, and it moves about with suprizing speed with a rolling motion.
The white jelly gurgles and bubbles.
White Scorpion This pale scorpion is about six feet long, with pasty white skin and black-tipped pincers and stinger. It moves about with great speed on its eight legs, and is a vicious predator, attacking anything that comes near.
Wight This revolting undead creation is a bent, misshapen humanoid with glowing red points for eyes, and cruelly-hooked claws. Despite its gaunt appearance, you can see it is powerfully muscled, and moves with the confident speed of a cat.
You get a chill of disquiet from the wight's unnatural silence.
Wild Dog #1 & 2 This filthy dog reeks quite badly, and shakes as if having a seizure. It has a crazy look in its eyes, and foams profusely at the mouth.
The wild dog doesn't understand you.
Wild Dog #3 This massive creature appears to be more wolf than dog... its black eyes glare at you maliciously from beneath its shaggy brow, and its red tongue lolls out in a parody of a grin.
The wild dog growls at you menacingly!
Wild Spider This hairy and grotesque looking spider seems to be fashioning some kind of cocoon as you approach. Thick legs hold up a leathery skinned body of very large proportions. A gleaming bundle of eyes seems to be looking in all directions at the same time.
The wild spider scuttles towards you, chittering madly!
Will-o-Wisp This pale ball of light floats about the swamp, seemingly at random. They appear quite beautiful and harmless, but seasoned adventurers know that their touch is a burning cold, and that they are drawn to all living things.
Winged Demon This man-sized demon somewhat resembles an insect, and walks on two jointed grasshopper-like legs. Two pairs of shimmering, angular wings spread out from its back, and its six glistening black eyes gaze about with predatory intelligence.
Winged Horror This large, reptilian beast is jet black, with a wingspan wider than three large men are tall. Its wedge-shaped head is filled with long, needle-sharp teeth, and is set on a slender neck. Its slitted red eyes peer at you maliciously, and it hisses ferociously at you!

Witchunter Spirit The image of a mammoth, mailed half-ogre floats before you. His huge greatsword hangs from its side as if it were a one-handed blade. At your approach, he looks you up and down with a surprisingly intelligent gaze.
The witchunter spirit greets you with a bow, saying "Welcome young one. Thy travels have brought thee far, to find me in this cursed tomb where I am bound. Withered Old Man This crooked, cowering old man reeks strongly of alcohol. His skin is heavily creased and wrinkled, an his eyes deeply sunken-- they are strangely dead and lifeless. He is garbed in filthy clothing and clutches a rancid wineskin. He mutters softly to himself.
The withered old man takes no notice of you when you speak to him, and only mutters into his wineskin.
Wood Golem This is a twisted wooden construction in the rough shape of a human. It stands about seven feet high, and moves with a jerky, awkward gait. Its heavy arms could cause considerable damage in combat.
You get a chill of disquiet from the wood golem's unnatural silence.
Woodelf Citizen The elf is clad in green and brown leathers, and is girded with a long blade by his side. He appears to be somewhat suspicious and keeps a careful eye out for trespassers.
The woodelf looks you up and down suspiciously, saying, "Are you a friend?"
Woodelf Druid This tall, mysterious figure is cloaked in a deep-green cape which almost seems to blend into the background. The elf wields a long darkwood staff, and strides around tending to the forest.

Woodelf Guard This tall, muscular elf wears an elaborate wooden breastplate in addition to green leathers. He wields a deadly war-spear with extreme skill, and is vigilant in his pursual of trespassers and creatures of evil.

Woodelf Lord This tall, well-built elf has a commanding air about him. Garbed in shimmering silvery robes and wielding a shining silverwood staff, he is the definition of regal. Although he appears stern, a hint of warmth and compassion can be seen in his eyes.
The woodelf looks you up and down suspiciously, saying, "Are you a friend?"
Woodelf Ranger This tall, mysterious figure is cloaked in a deep-green cape which almost seems to blend into the background. The elf wields a long broad-bladed war spear with skill, and stalks about the forest patrolling for evil creatures.

Woodelf Wardancer This athletic figure is garbed in nothing more than shimmering silks. He twirls and dances with incredible speed, whirling his spear about in deadly arcs. Wardancers are known to be excellent, agile warriors who often use acrobatics in their attacks.
The woodelf looks you up and down suspiciously, saying, "Are you a friend?"
Worker Ant This large, blood-red ant is about a foot and a half long, with unnaturally large and powerful jaws. It scuttles about quickly, its six legs bearing it rapidly wherever there is work to be done.
Wounded Messenger This tall, weary-looking man is garbed in the livery of the church. He rests upon a wooden table here, and you see that although his leg has been heavily bandaged, blood still seeps through. He appears to be in some pain, but manages to retain a firm composure.

Wounded Sailor This haggard man is dressed in tattered garb of a sailor, his shirt torn and pants ripped in many places. He has the look of someone who has been hunted for many days. His eyes are red from lack of sleep and he keeps looking around nervously.
The wounded sailor cowers in the corner "By the maiden of the sea I beg ye duna keel me!" he ways in utter terror. "I tells ya all I new is thars a manster crab down there, its bloody the size of the great Kraken!" he starts to get a wild look in his eyes and stares off into space. "Wait Queeg!" he screams "Don't go through..." he pauses and starts to shiver uncontrollably. "No! Ceannibal women! Black Magic! The crab, gads the crab!" He starts mumbling softer, then begins to cry "I couldna help me mates I just couldna!" He curls up into a ball gibbering softly to himself.
Wounded Worker The man before you is wearing ragged clothing, and cowers before you in fear. He seems to be clutching his leg, which is twisted unnaturally beneath him.
The wounded man cowers before you, saying, "Please don't hurt me, I'll tell you anything you want! I have secrets you cannot do without!" He looks furtively around him, as if seeking a method of escape.
Wraith This unnerving apparition seems to be your worst nightmare -- a large shadowy figure with long, wicked claws and hellishly burning eyes. It exists only to bring death to living creatures, and leaves no being it encounters alive.
You get a chill of disquiet from the wraith's unnatural silence.
Wraithlord This tall figure radiates an aura of horror, making your hair stand on end. It is shrouded in an evil darkness which saps the courage from you. Its shadowy form is difficult to see, but its slitted, glowing red eyes are readily apparent.
