Description |
Greeting |
| Lady Sentara |
The Lady Sentara is well-known as the most beautiful woman in Silvermere.
Though she must be nearing her fortieth year, she looks barely older than
half that. Her platinum-blonde hair, sea-blue eyes and girlish figure have
made many a man beg her hand in marriage. |
Lady Sentara brushes her hair back hastily and smiles, "I'm sorry but I am
very busy right now. Perhaps you can come back at a better time?" She flashes
you a quick grin and goes back to her work.
|
| Lamia |
This horrific creature appears to be half serpent, half woman. Her
snakelike lower body is long and muscular, and her upper body is that of
a beautiful, evil woman. In one hand she wields a wavy-bladed dagger, and
with the other makes arcane gestures. |
|

with iron bands, and sits upon four short steel feet. |

blade. |
Leo the Quick has nothing to tell you! |
| Leprechaun |
This interesting-looking fellow is clad in green clothes and wears
a pair of sturdy shoes. His bright red beard and hair are somewhat spiky
and coarse. In one hand he wields a gilded club, and in the other holds
a long, smoking pipe. |
The leprechaun smiles mischieviously at you and laughs. |
| Leprous Outcast |
This hunched, ragged figure is swathed in filthy robes and bandage,
which completely obsure its features. Pus stains its clothes and a foul

This terrifying being stands at least fifteen feet tall, and is as
lithe as a cat. Garbed in a strange, metallic garb, he wields a long spear
which sparkles with blue light. The Lord of the Hunt's bright green eyes
almost entrance you as he stares right at you! |
|

This wizened dwarf spends long days poring over ancient tomes and gazing
at the sky through his sky-glass. He knows much about what goes on in the
world, and even more about its history. Little escapes his keen scrutiny. |
This ancient dwarf is deeply enraptured by a book he is reading when you hail
him. After a moment, as if shaking off a heavy sleep, he looks up, notices
you, and exclaims: "Ahh, strangers come to the halls of lore! Greetings, and
please help yourselves to the vast library of information I have accumulated
here. It is unparalled!" With a sudden start of surprise, he seems to
remember something. In a voice that would be funny if it were not apparent he
is trying to be stern, says: "Errm, hrmph, I mean, of course, do you have
permission from the King to be here? I cannot answer questions nor help you
if you don't have official reason to request my aid. A matter of law, you
know." |
| Mad Wizard |
This golden-robed man has frizzy grey hair and wears thick spectacles.
He hurries about nervously, with a crazed expression on his face. |
The mad wizard looks at you and shouts, "GET OUT! You're disturbing my experiments! GET OUT!" |
| Mage Spirit |
Before you stands the shadowed image of a black-shrouded dark elf.
His bright blue eyes peer from the depths of his hood, and as he looks
you up and down, he seems to nod to himself in satisfaction. |

fists could cause horrendous damage. |

and a spiked tail, it qualifies as one of the oddest monstrosities encounterable.
It is a fierce and ruthless fighter. |
The manticore roars in fury! |

This delicate-looking woman has large, almond-shaped brown eyes and

blushing |
Meia smiles shyly as you greet her, and gestures to the store's wares. |
| Mercenary |
This leather-clad warrior has a decidedly shifty appearance. The readied
longsword he carries is notched and looks as if it has seen much use. These

An image of a lithe human woman stands before you. She is clad in dark
leather armor, and wields a peculiar curved blade. Her shoulder length
red hair flutters like a cloud around her, and her clear grey eyes hold
your unwaveringly. |
|

All you can see of this strange apparition is a swirling, misty shape
somewhat like smoke. It moans ominously, making the hair stand up on the
back of your neck. |
The moaning spirit utters a heart-stopping wail, and reaches for you! |
| Morukai |
This tall, mysterious figure is one of the heroes of legend. Garbed
in midnight blue robes, he wields arcane magic that would burn souls of
less powerful wizards. Morukai was instrumental in the defeat of the dark
one ages ago, and is the most powerful mage alive. |
Morukai arches an eyebrow as you address him, but does not rise from
his desk.
In a quiet, precise voice, he says, "Evidently you are here on a mission
of some importance. No one who has my favour would entrust the charm of
passage
to someone whose need is not great, and few would willingly come here.
Speak now, and remember that little is hidden from me. Lies will annoy
me, and those who annoy me do not survive long."
|

his forbidding appearance, he gives you a toothy grin. |
|
| Nasty-Looking Man |
This odious stranger reeks of alcohol, and is covered in a grizzy growth

careworn face and sports drooping mustaches that hang down past his chin.
He gestures towards his array of weaponry with a sweeping motion. |
The shopkeeper says, "Welcome, friend. It is always a refreshing sight
to see another adventurer beginning his career! Please have a look at my
fine selection of weaponry, although if you are anything like the average
newcomer, you are no doubt flat broke. In that case, I have simple wooden
quarterstaves for use until you acquire enough money to buy a fine steel
weapon. Just take a look at my STOCK and pick something you like!" |
| Necromancer |

"May you find shade, fellow wanderer. It is my privilege and honour to be able to travel through this fine land. So different than my homeland, which is a sandy waste, though I love it nonetheless. Alas, I wish that my time here was for recreation, as I would relish such extravagances as shadowed forests and secluded pools. My mission here is of some urgency, though I doubt you would be concerned of such matters." |
| Nexus Hunter |

Orfeo smiles slightly, saying, "Welcome to my inn, wanderer. For a
modest price, you may rest upstairs, or have a warm meal. Ale and wine
are available if you so choose. For the musically inclined, I have a selection
of fine instruments for sale. By the way, there are bandits patrolling
south of the swamp, and packs of wild dogs to the north. The northern route
is longer, but easier. The gypsies across the road are friendly as long
as they are respected. The old woman is a powerful seer, and causing her
or her family harm would incur her considerable wrath. Once a bandit tried
to strike her, but she laid a deadly wasting curse upon him. He didn't
last the day."
