| Aged Earth Dragon | This massive, earthy-scaled wyrm is seventy feet from snout to tail. Its iridescent, reptilian eyes glarre at you with malicious intelligence. Its claws rend the stone floor like it was sand, and its great teeth show they have rendered many an armoured knight. |

| Albino Salamander | This large salamander is rather ghastly looking. Its skin is almost transparent, as it seems to be lacking any kind of pigment whatsoever. There are no eyes where you would normally find them, leaving you to wonder how this creature navigates. |
| Amazon | Before you is a tall, muscular woman of the jungle. She is a simple woman and wears a plain cloth smock, but even she is of incredible beauty, as she does her daily tasks. Even still, you can not help but admire her muscled body and tan skin. |
| Amazon Battle Master | You see a woman with hair the color of iron and bronzed skin. She is dressed in the most basic leather, allowing her great flexibility in combat. In one hand she has a short spear which she uses to make quick and deadly jabs. She wields it with obvious expertise. |
| Amazon Craftswoman | This beautiful, silver-haired woman glances up at you from her work. You size her up and tel by the leather apron she wears that she has fashioned many a weapon or piece of armour in her long life. She puts down her large iron mallet and looks up at you expectantly. |
| The elderly amazon craftswoman looks up from her work and smiles at you. "Welcome to my shop. As you can see, I have been busy at work crafting the finest of items for our warriors to wear. Perhaps you see something of interest? I have been working for months on a new type of armour." She stops to pick up a piece of red crab shell and gets and excited look in her eyes. "As you can see they are hard, but slightly flexible. The natural fibers in the shell make it nearly impossible to pierce, but still light and easy to move in. The only problem is they are so small it takes many shells to complete each piece." | |
| Amazon Guard | You see before you a woman dressed in ornate leathers, with gold and silver stitched in elaborate paterns. She wields a bright, shiny, eight-foot spear, in one hand and a wooden shield in the other. She has a deadly look about her, much like an animal stalking a prey. |
| Amazon Priestess | Before you stands a religious leader of the Amazon people. She looks middle-aged and not as strong as the other people of her tribe, but she still has a formidable look about her, and a steely glint in her eyes. She is dressed in plain robes stitched with various runes. |
| Amazon Queen | Nearly 7 feet tall, one of the tallest women you have ever seen before, she has a deadly look in her eyes as she eyeballs you. Decorative scars have been etched into her arms. Like most amazons, her right breast is cut off to allow more freedom of movement with the bow. |
| The giant woman stares down at you. "What is it you want outlander?!" she almost shouts at you. "If I see fit I may grant you the boon of my war-magic, or maybe I'll just slice your gullet!" she adds, her form growing more menacing. "Beg for my help now, or leave before I throw you into the slave pits!" |

| Amazon Warrior | Dressed in dyed leathers and annointed with warpaint, you see the terror of the jungle, the amazon warrior. She has an animal look in her eyes, and you can tell she is sizing you up, see how quickly she can kill you, which sends chills down your spine as you look away. |

| Ancestral Guardian | Trapped somewhere between this life and the next this ghost appears to be only semi-solid. Gliding across the floor, a look of pain marks the ethereal being face showing the torment it must forever endure. |
| Ancient Sand Dragon | This gigantic creature is fully seventy feet long, covered in dull yellow scales harder than steel. Its talons are like swords; a strike of its tail, like a thunderclap. It is an elder of its kind, immensely powerful and malicious. Death follows in its wake. |
| Ancient Willow | This massive and ancient willow tree is rife with black rot. Despite this malady it appears powerful and strong, and is possibly the oldest tree you have ever seen. A haunting melody seems to emanate from it, drawing you irresistably closer. |
| Animated Tree | This tall, twisted darkwood tree looms ominously over you. Its deep green foliage is covered in a creeping yellow rot, and its bark is peeling and diseased. It has been animated by some unknown force, and moves about on thick roots, slowly but with great power. |
| Ankheg | This seven-foot long, six-legged insect has a hard carapace colored mottled brown and yellow. Its large mandibles are extremely strong, able to snap a small tree in half with a bite, and its antennae wave about in search of fresh meat. Ankhegs are known to attack on sight. |

| Archer Bush | This dense, woody bush grows close to the ground. Its thick, squat trunk sprouts many branches studded with wicked-looking thorns. |

| Aurumvorax | This strange creature greatly resembles a large badger, but has eight legs and a beautiful golden pelt. Its small silver eyes peer out with a surprizing ferocity, and it moves quickly to the attack! |
| Azure Slime | This is a small blue blob of protoplasm, which moves about with a sickening slurping sound. Waving about in the air are thin tendrils, which crackle with small bright sparks. |

| Baby Dragon | This large reptilian creature is about twenty feet long, and is covered in bright red scales. It has long talons and fangs, and its wingspan is easily twice its length. A wisp of smoke trails from its mouth as it looks at you with its glittering black eyes. |
| Balthazar | This tall, dark man has glowing red eyes and sharp white teeth. He is dressed in the finest silks and wears numerous stylish, expensive pieces of jewelry. There is a palpable aura of evil surrounding him, as well as one of extreme power. |
| Bandit | This sleazy-looking brigand wears studded leather armor, and wields a broadsword as if he knows how to use it. He eyes you shiftily and approaches with a sneer. |
| The bandit grins evilly at you, and eyes your purse! | |
| Bandit Leader | Cheap jewelry adorns the ugly form of this tall, well-built man. He wears a gaudy chain shirt over normal leathers, and carries a curved bastard sword as a weapon. He sneers contemptuously at anyone he encounters. |
| Banshee | This misty apparition appears to be a white-robed woman, her face hidden by a dark hood. Her translucent form seems to radiate power, and a chill of fear runs up your spine. |
| Bard Spirit | The transparent image of a half-elven bard stands before you. She wears bright red silks, and carries a golden harp in her hands. |
| Barmaid - Rhudaur | This whorish-looking barmaid wears a sleazy outfit that barely conceals her feminine charms. She has a stout cudgel at her belt, and she does not refrain from clubbing anyone who gets on her bad side. |
| Barmaid - Silvermere | This preety barmaid walks around in tight-fitting kitchen garb, a tray in one hand, and the other free to slap the hands of forward men. |
| The barmaid smiles at you wearily, and says, "Welcome, traveller. Please look at our list of foods and drinks on sale here. When you are ready to order, just call me over." | |
| Barrow Wight | This frightening apparition is completely garbed in what appear to be gilded ceremonial robes, the kind that nobles and heros are buried in. In one withered hand it wields a long, glittering silvery dagger and twin points of red light glow from beneath its darkened hood! |
| Beautiful Woman | This incredibly beautiful woman is a vision of perfection. She wears long white robes, and has an expression of ultimate serenity and happiness upon her face. She carries a bowl of delicious-looking fruit about in her hands. |
| Behemoth | This massive creature towers above you like a living hill. Its four short, powerful legs propel its huge body about with surprizing speed. Thick, sharp tusk-like teeth jut out of its cavernous maw, easily wide enough to swallow someone whole. |
| Behemoth Hellhound | This gargantuan creature is the size of a small hill, its huge black mane reeks of sulphur and death. Two great eyes of fire glare at you, and a small puddle has formed under its mouth. It grins menacingly revealing shockingly white fangs. |

| Beholder | This spherical monstrosity levitates about slowly. In the center of its body a huge, lidless eye stares, emanating an aura of anti-magic in front of it. Atop it are eight small eyestalks, which swivel about looking in every direction. Beholders are incredibly dangerous foes. |
| Betram | This portly, smiling fellow greets you with a good-natured, booming welcome. He gestures broadly towards his wares, encouraging you to browse the merchandise. |
| The shopkeeper exclaims in a booming voice "Hello, my young friend! Come in to test your mettle in becoming an adventurer, eh? Well, good luck to you! You will surely need some form of protection while you hone your skills, and I have all you need right here! I even have some free armor items for those who don't have the money to spend, just take a look at my STOCK and pick something your size. | |
| Bishop | This tall, well-built man is clad in sandals and the simple white robe of his order. A large silver amulet hangs from around his neck as some sort of symbol of office. He has dark blue eyes, greying hair and the large rough hands of a farmer, and he smiles at you warmly. |
| Black Asp | This deadly serpent reaches nearly six feet in length, and has powerful jaws that enable it to pierce armor to deliver its poison. It is not truly evil, but attacks any creature that approaches. It is best to be wary of this snake. |
| Black Dragon | This large reptilian creature is about fifty feet long, and is covered in shiny black scales. Its wingspan is easily twice its length, and its teeth and claws could easily rip someone in two with a single swipe. The dragon appears fully grown, and quite deadly. |
| The black dragon sneers at you contemptuously. Its anger at your unwelcome intrusion has kindled its considerable fury, and it heaves its massive body towards you! | |
| Black Dragon Serpent | This eight-foot-long serpentine creature resembles a coal black anaconda, except that it has an evil-looking dragon's head. It has long sharp fangs and short curved horns, and black ichor drips from its mouth, burning holes in the ground. |
| Black Fungus Tree | This large, twisted tree has been completely taken over by some form of deep violet fungus, which has animated it. It moves slowly about on thick roots, its limbs creaking and groaning quietly. |

| Black Orc | This tall, menacing-looking orc stands with uncharacteristic discipline. He wears black chainmail armor, and wields a heavy sword. |
| Black Orc Boss | This huge, poweful orc has skin as black as night, and glowing red eyes that burn with evil intensity. Clutched in one hand is a heavy serrated scimitar, and a long shirt of black chainmail protects him. |
| Black Orc Captain | This tall, powerfully built orc has jet black skin and glowing red eyes. He wears glittering black chainmail, and wields a heavy scimitar. His evil grin exposes his sharp yellow fangs. |

| Black Orc Shaman | This brutal-looking figure is garbed in a rough brown robe. Glowing red eyes peer at you from the depths of its hood, and it waves its clawed hands about in mystical patterns. An evil aura emanates from this creature. |

| Black Pudding | This large, quivering blob oozes about at an astonishing rate, considering it has no legs! It leaves a trail of corrosive acid behind it, and consumes anything it comes in contact with. |

| Blood Hawk | This innocent enough looking golden-brown hawk moves through the air with the grace of an angel. Light glistens off a few feathers on the far tips of the blood hawks wings and it lets out a soul curdling call as it begins to droop towards you. |
| Bloodbear | The deadly bloodbear is named for its ability to sense strife and agression, which enrages and attracts it. When it feels these emotions nearby, it enters a berserker rage, and races to where the sensations are coming from to slay indiscriminately. |

| Blue Dragon Serpent | This eight-foot-long serpentine creature resembles and azure-hued anaconda, except that it has an evil-looking dragon's head. It has long sharp fangs and short curved horns, and small sparks of electricity jump from it occasionally. |
| Boatman | This gnarled, weaselly-looking man has stringy gray hair and watery green eyes. He is garbed in a shapeless robe that once might have been a shade of blue, and his bony, calloused feet are bare and tanned. He grins at you with an insane, lop-sided leer. |
| The boatman says "Well, what do ya want now? I suppose ye'll be wantin' to use o' of me SKIFFs thar, now that this ruin's been found on the ol' island thar in the middle o' the river." He looks you up and down appraisingly. "You look wealthy enough," he says, "so I'm sure ye'll be able ta afford the five gold piece CHARGE I'll be wantin' fer use of me BOATs." The boatman grins slyly up at you, and spits to the side. | |
| Bodyguard | This powerfully-built dwarf wears heavy mail and wields a broad axe. He says nothing, but appears constantly on guard for any threat to his master. |
| Bola Spider | This thin, long-legged spider is covered in many spiky black hairs. Its dull yellow skin is thick and leathery, and its clusters of glittering eyes glow softly. Sharp fangs jut out from its mouth at odd angles. |
| Bombardier Beetle | This four-foot-long beetle has a dull green carapace, long spindly legs and a strange set of tubelike organs protruding from its behind. Its mandibles are fairly large, and could cause serious damage. |

| Bone Warrior | A dull green glow emanates from the eye sockets of this long since dead warrior. No flesh appears upon the undead to show the scars of battles past. Deep gouges in some of the bones surrounding vital areas are evidence that their death was not timely. |
| Bounty Hunter | This man is garbed in well-worn chainmail, and a broad sword hangs on his back. His skin is tanned and rough, and covered in many small scars. He appears experienced and when he looks you up and down, you get the impression that he is evaluating your abilities. |
| Brain Eater | This small, hideous demon is no larger than a toad. It is covered in slimy red skin, and has four crooked legs that end in razor-sharp claws the size of daggers. It slits a person's head open and climbs in, then controlling the corpse with uncanny skill. |
| Brigand | This cloaked, hooded figure wields a drawn longsword and wears full leather armor. It gestures to you impatiently, seemingly waiting for you to hand over your valuables. |
| Brine Hag | This creature appears to be a wretched old woman with blackened teeth and back bent like a shepherds crook. Wearing a well worn black robe she picks her way along the reef cackling in glee upon sighting the carcass of any animal and stomping on others small enough to crush. |
| Captain of the Guard | This fearsome-looking dark-elf is garbed in black field plate and wears a robe of the deepest crimson. His face is completely obscured by the lowered visor of his helmet, which emanates a dull blackness. He deftly wields a large claymore that pulsates with blue energy. |
| Carnivorous Plant | This large, spiny plant has many broad jagged-edged leaves. Its thick stem supports a bulbous head filled with inward curving teeth. Dozens of tendrils sprouting from its base move it about, and wave menacingly. |

| Carrion Beast | This creature is an obvious mutation: it is the size of a small dog, and is furred, but has six jointed legs and a snout bristling with gnarled fangs. The carrion beast is known to be a berserker when disturbed, and can be tough to kill. |

| Carrion Crawler | This fat, hideous insectile beast resembles a nine foot-long maggot, except with eight long thin tentacles ringing its mouth, and two dozen legs. It slithers towards you, its tentacles waving about in the air as if searching for prey! |

| Catoblepas | This ugly beast resembles a fat, misshapen buffalo, with short stumpy legs and a long neck. It has a snakelike tail topped with a knobbly bone ball, and a large head on the end of its neck tht droops down under its own weight. Its red bloodshot eyes glow softly. |

| Cave Bear | This huge, menacing bear seems to be more demon than beast. Its red eyes glare at you malevolently, and it roars a challenge as it approaches. Its sharp curved claws appear to be able to part stone as easily as flesh. |

| Cave Lizard | This stocky eight-foot long lizard is speckled green and grey. Its four legs are quite powerfully muscled, and its mouth is full of six inch long fangs. Speeding towards you, it drools expectantly! |
| Cave Worm | This long, grey worm is about one foot in diameter, with pale gelatinous eyes and a maw full of three inch long needle-sharp teeth. It weaves about as if searching for prey. Cave worms are quite tough, and when they hit inflict horrible jagged wounds. |
| Centipede | This two-foot-long creature is titanic compared to normal centipedes. Its flesh is pale white, its eyes and hundreds of legs black and shiny. Known to be poisonous, they are extremely fast and can deliver painful bites. |
| Champion Gudruk | This massively-muscled dwarf appears to be recovering from some nasty wounds. Bandages bound about his head, body and arms are spotted with red. Although he is wounded, he still maintains a fierce burning gaze, and has an aura of indomitable strength about him. |
The massive dwarven hero props himself on one elbow, and leans over the edge of the bed. With a small grimace of pain, he says: "God's breath and bones, these bandages will be the death of me. I can barely move an inch without feeling like a trussed-up banquet pig! Ahh, never the worry though. I've recovered from worse." With that, he winks and breaks out in a broad grin. "Now what have you come to visit me for? I don't remember meeting any strangers of late, but then again, I did take a nasty blow to the head." |

| Champion of Blood | This tall, massively muscled man is garbed in an exotic collection of black platemail and red robes. He wields a heavy, evil-looking sword, and from the depths of his helm, his eyes glow with a fervent light. The overwhelming aura of evil surrounding this man makes you shudder! |
| Chancellor Annora | This thin-featured woman is the embodiment of patience -- her steely blue eyes could make a rock blink first. She is garbed in lightly embroidered silk robes, and is surrounded with an air of confident dignity, which is reinforced by her obvious advanced age. |
| Chancellor Annora smiles at you as you approach, and motions for you to sit
down in one of the chairs. She looks you up and down, and says: "Evidently you know who I am, or you would not be here. You must therefore be here on some business, though if I may be so rude, please keep it brief-- we are extremely busy here of late, and I will be up late into the night completing paperwork and copying scrolls. But, if you have proven youself trustworthy in the past, I may have some new missions for you." |

| Chest | This appears to be a large, ordinary-looking wooden chest. It is bound with iron bands, and sits upon four short steel feet. |
| Chimera | This ugly beast has the hindquarters of a huge goat, and the forequarters of a lion. Its body has black wings like those of a dragon. The chimera has three heads, one of a goat, one of a lion, and one of an orange-scaled dragon. They are known to be voracious in appetite. |
| Cleric Spirit | The image of a short, stocky dwarf clad in shining mail and bearing a massive warhammer stands before you. The dwarf's fierce grin can be seen through his winged helm, and as you approach he raises a mailed fist in greeting. |
| Cloaked Figure | This evil-looking goblin has dusky grey skin and luminescent red eyes. He wears shiny black hide armor, and wields a long curved sword. His pointy white teeth are bared in an evil grin as he advances toward you. |
| cockatrice | This repulsive hybrid bird is abou the size of a large gooze. It has the body and head of a rooster, with two ghoulish bat wings and a spiked lizard tail. It eyes you hungrily. |
| Cocoon | This is a large, oval-shaped cocoon fastened to the wall here. It is a pale translucent white in color, and pulsates slightly. Inside you can see the vague dark shape of a body! |
| Colin | Colin is a tall, moderately-built human with short, dark, greying hair. He appears to be near fifty years of age, but he has a youthfulness about him which is reflected in his slate-colored eyes. He appears to be one who would have many tales to tell. |
| Colin looks you up and down, and greets you with a warm smile. He says, "Welcome to mine humble store, adventurer. In these dangerous times, it is wise to go armed. I have many weapons for those whose faith prohibits the use of bladed arms, or for those to whom bloodshed is unseemly. My stock is filled with blunt weapons of every size and description, suited for use by the mildest priest, to the brawniest warrior. Please, look over my fine inventory, I am sure thou wouldst find something to thy liking." He waves a calloused hand over his broad case of weapons. | |
| Commander Markus | This bearlike, muscular man is quite tall and wide, but is not fat -- he is a mountain of pure muscle. He is garbed in shining chainmail, and a long two-handed sword is strapped to his back. His intense blue eyes seem to note every detail of his surroundings. |
| Commander Markus turns to you, his intimidating features furrowed with
a frown.
"What business do you have here," he rumbles, "this is no place for idle adventuring. This outpost is regularly besieged by vicious and evil creatures never meant to exist in this land! However, as you must have travelled far to reach me, I suppose that you must be on some sort of business... if so, explain it quickly, as I have little time to spare." |

| Constrictor | More than thirty feet long this brown and green banded serpent moves exceedinly quickly for its massive size. A large forked tongue slips in and out of its mouth as it stares at you longingly with deep crimson eyes. |
| Coral Lobster | The meat of a coral lobster could feed the entire complemetn of Silvermere's guards quite easily. At the size of a small cart its claws become lethal weapons and its outer covering, which is itself made of coral, becomes nearly impenetrable. |
| Corwyn | Before you stands a fine example of a fighting man. He is well-muscled and stands with the relaxed but alert posture of someone who is used to combat. If the silence with which he moves is anything to go by, then fighting is not all he has some knowledge of. |
| The formidable-looking man says, "Greetings, journeyman. If thou seekest training in arts martial or magical, I be he who shall instruct thee. If thou needst advancement in other skills, such as hunting or stealth, I have considerable ability in those areas as well. For a modest fee I will aid thee to hone thy skills, simply BUY TRAINING from me and we shall get to work." | |
| Crane Spirit | Tall, slender and moving with a deliberate grace this spirit looks to pose no thread. A beautiful set of white feathers cover the birds body excepting the tips of its wing which seem to have a crimson tinge. |
| Crazed Dwarf | This filthy dwarf looks sickly and malnourished, yet he still bears the powerful and muscular frame typical to one of dwarven blood. He is garbed in stained leather, and wields a rusty old hatchet. The look in his glazed eyes is one of pure madness. |

| Crimson Mist | This mysterious swirling mist flies through the air with great speed. Flashing within the mist are tiny red lights, and emanating from the mist cloud are sounds which resemble the shrieking and moaning o hundreds of tortured beings! |
| Crippled Adventurer | This middle-aged man has a grizzled brown beard, only just beginning to turn grey. He is missing his left leg, and walks with the aid of a crutch. His right arm is withered and is swathed in bandages, and one eye is simply a mass of scars. He moves as though in great pain. |
| Crocodile | This terror of the swamp sports tough, natural armor plating, and a long snout filled with vicious teeth. A powerful killer, the crocodile lurks in wait for its prey, then strikes with great speed. |
| Crystalline Spider | This large, shining creature appears to be a strange combination of hard black shell and glittering crystal. It moves about on spiky, angular legs, scuttling about with incredible speed. |

| Cutpurse | This sneaky creature thinks he's crept up to you. He is quite stupid though and probably doesn't realize that you've noticed him. In his right hand he holds a dull dagger. |
| Cyclops | This huge, powerfully-built humanoid is garbed in ragged skins, and wields a large twisted tree trunk in one hand. Its single baleful eye glows with a greenish fire. Wound about one of its wrists is some sort of bracelet, probably belt-sized on a normal human. |
| Dae Asp | Five feet long this dusty brown snake would not be so menacing if not for the three pairs of fangs it now displays before you. Many an adventurer has a tale of near death to accompany one of the trademark six-holed bite wounds. |
| Dao Lord | This powerful being is a native of the elemental plane of earth. A greater spirit of overwhelming evil, it works solely to further its own twisted goals, causing pain and suffering in its wake. Known for their incredible power and cunning, the Dao are deadly foes. |
| Dark Apprentice | This tall, mysterious figure is garbed in flowing robes of dark grey and black, and moves with an alarming grace. Emblazoned on the front and cuffs of its robe is a clenched white fist. |
| Dark Assassin | This lean, stooped figure is tightly swathed in jet black robes. A horned skull is emblazoned on its chest, and a pair of straight blades hang on its back. It moves with the incredibly quiet grace of the trained killer. |

| Fire Bat | This huge, crimson bat is sheathed in writhing flames! The bat's beady black eyes peer at you hungrily, and it squeaks loudly as it flaps towards you! |
| Fire Elemental | This flickering, fiery shape holds a roughly humanoid form. It moves about with a quiet roaring sound, and as it approaches you, it reaches out with a flaming limb to strike you. |
| Fire Knight | Magma and fire seem to combine together to form a knight of flame. It has a plume of blue flame, while its helpet and plate armor are made of reddish magma. It carries a greatsword, with flames licking up and down the blade. It begins to walk towards you in a practiced stance. |
| Fire Lizard | This ten foot long lizard is bright red, and seems to be sheathed in flames! Its powerful clawed legs propel it slowly towards you, and its wide-set black eyes glitter evilly. Its tail swishes back and forth hypnotisingly, leaving glowing trails in your mind's eye. |
| Fire Toad | This great, red and mottled yellow mutant toad is a sight to behold. Its two huge bulbous eyes glow an eerie blue as if they held a flame of their own. It flocks its fiery tongue and you notice a fanged maw. Slowly it begins to spring forward on its great spry legs. |
| Flame Elemental #1 | This burning, crackling shape is made of pure fire. It moves about on a tower of flame, and maintains a roughly humanoid form. Searing heat radiates from it, making it hard to approach. |
| Flame Elemental #2 | This monster looks like a seven foot tall man who has been set on fire. THe flames all over its body seem to waiver and dance hypnotically, they almost seem to leap off its body and reach out towards you. It walks towards you in methodical steps. |
| Flesh Golem | This eight-foot-tall monstrosity appears to have been put together from assorted body parts. Hideous and powerful, it is devoid of all sentiment and is now nothing but a relentless killer. |
| Flesh Ripper | No bigger than a dog, the size of this beast is not as terrifying as its wicked jaws that contains the hundreds of finely edged teeth used to remove its favorite food, the flesh of the recently deceased. Open sores fest on the pale white hide visibly showing veins that pulse. |
| Floating Key | This is a small, golden key, which is lazily spinning in the air in the middle of a shaft of light. |
| Forest Spider | This large brown spider has a small body and powerful head and jaws. Its underbody is striped with white, and its two front legs are quite short and have gripping claws. |

| Foul Creation | This reeking, misshapen creature is the failed result of a mage's magical experiments. Twisted beyond recognition, its former shape cannot be guessed at. Tossed down in these caves to be forgotten, it has grown lonely and hateful in the darkness. |
| Frost Hydra | This monstrous beast nearly reaches the ceiling of this forty-foot high cave. Its scaly hide is tougher than iron, its icy breath deadly. Seven heads sprout from its muscular shoulders, each with beady glowing eyes which glare at you from deep within their sockets! |
| Frost Serpent | This eight foot snake is completely white, save for it slitted yellow eyes. Its black tongue flicks in and out rapidly, and it slithers toward you. |

| Fungus Lizard | This six-foot-long lizard is a mottled grey and brown, and has strange, spherical rotating eyes. Its maw is filled with many shiny white teeth, very sharp, and dripping with venom. A thin grey fungus covers most of its body like a parasite. |

| Gargoyle | This hideous creature appears to be made out of dark grey stone. Its curved claws, batlike wings, and horned, demon-like head instill fear in all but the boldest adventurers. They are known to be vicious fighters, delighting in torture when their adversary is down. |

| Gaunt One Elder | This tall, lanky gaunt has many wrinkles of age upon his wizened face, He wears simple robes and nothing of consequence except a hematite medallion, which you guess marks him as the elder of this settlement. Despite his age, he seems to have a youthful smile. |

| Gelatinous Cube | What appears to be a ten foot cube of quivering protoplasm is before you. It oozes forward at a respectable pace, and suspended within its transparent core are various objects it apparently could not digest. |

| Gemstone Juggernaut | This colossal being towers over fifteen feet in height, and is nearly as wide. It has a somewhat humanoid shape, with long arms and short thick legs. Two rubies glow brightly where eyes might be. Since its body is covered in gems, it is both damaging and well-armored. |
| Ghost | This nearly transparent apparition moans softly as it floats about. It clutches its torn white funeral rags closely to itself. Although it appears sad and lonely, the undead are known to vent their rage and frustration upon the living. |
| Ghost Knight | A haze of shimmering light surrounds this ghostly apparition. The spectral knight's features are drawn with an incredible sadness, his once-proud and powerful form now sunken with grief. Powerful emanations of goodness ripple out from him in waves. |
| Ghoul | This awful-looking creature appears to be a filthy, emaciated human - until you see its glowing red eyes and sharp claws. Its frail appearance belies powerful muscles, and it moves with surprizing grace. |
| Giant Ant | This six-foot-long ant is reddish-brown, and has massive mandibles. Its chitinous armor makes it extremely tough. Giant ants are known for their ferocity and deadliness. |

| Giant Otter | This inquisitive creature sniffs the air as he notices you. Many fine whiskers twitch as he scans the area continuously. A thick, well groomed brown fur coat covers him almost completely. A small patch below his neck has several small symbols that look vaguely familiar. |
| Giant Oyster | This massive oyster sts resting on the smooth sand. A large, pink, tongue-like object hangs from the fissure between the shell top and bottom. As you approach, the massive shell quivers slightly and slams shut with a loud clapping sound. |
| Giant Pulsating Cocoon | This gigantic, revolting cocoon has been fastened to the wall with a mass of sticky threads. It appears to be somewhat like an organ made of pasty white skin, and inside, you can vaguely see the outlines of bodies! |
| Giant Rat | This appears to be a mutant rat, grown to dog's size by some unknown force. Its beady red eyes peer at you along the length of its dirty muzzle, and it flicks its hairless pink tail nervously. The giant rat has sharp, yellow teeth that could inflict sizable wounds. |

| Giant Scorpion | This huge scorpion measures at least ten feet long, with shiny black carapace and razor-sharp pincers. Its long, segmented tail holds a deadly stinger that can punch through platemail with ease. It is a vicious predator, attacking anything that comes near. |
| Giant Skeleton | An unfortunate trainee that fell victim to the caverns, it now has a hatred for all that is living. It towers before you, its maniacal grin lighted by the magic flame inside its rib-cage seems like a heart of magma, it shouts a ghostly roar as it steps forward! |

| Giant Slug | This massive creature must be at least twenty-five feet long. It is a mutation of the normal, benign slug, but in this form it is far from harmless. Its raspy maw can deliver deadly bites, and it can spit a highly corrosive acid at will. |
| Giant Snake | This long, mottled serpent is perhaps twenty feet in length. Its grey-green hide is thick and lumpy, its head arrow-shaped and blunt. The snake peers at you maliciously with its evil yellow eyes, and slithers towards you. |
| Giant Spider | This huge, revolting spider is quite hairy and is as black as jet. Its cluster of faintly glowing eyes seems to mock you, and it mvoes with deceptive slowness. You notice something shimmering on one of its large fangs. |
| Giant Toad | This massive, bloated toad is mottled black and green. Its huge luminescent white eyes gleam eerily, and its toothy maw drips wetly. It hops forward on its powerful legs. |
| Giant Two-Headed Troll | This huge, mutated troll is jet black and stands at least fifteen feet tall. Its long, gangly arms end in huge hands with sword-like claws, and its two heads glare evilly about. Clutched in one hand is a mass of black wiry roots, which it nibbles on periodically. |
| Giant War Dog | This gigantic muscled beast stands fully five feet tall at its massive shoulder. Its great fanged maw is filled with curving razor-like teeth, yellowed and stained. You catch the scent of decay, as drool slobbers out of its mouth. |
| Giant Wasp | This enormous wasp hovers in the air effortlessly. Large fangs, which seem to be very uncharacteristic to this type of insect glint menacingly as its jaw opens and closes silently. The most terrifying skill this creature possesses is its silent movement. |
| Gibbering Horror | This disgusting blob-like beast pulls itself around with sticky protrusions. It is covered with glowing red eyes of all sizes, and many fanged mouths which continuously babble an almost hypnotic chant. |
| Gibbering Mage | This man has light tan skin, and is wearing nothing but a burlap sack to cover his body. Oddly the sack has several runes written on it, with what looks like dried blood. He gibbers to himself in a strange tongue and you notice an odd slant to his eyes. |

| Gorilla | Normally quite docile these gorillas are ferocious if provoked. The same strong hands used to rip open trees for grubs are able to crumple platemail like paper and hit with enough force to shatter the mightiest shields. |
| Gorilla Spirit | This massive spectre stands over nine feet tall and is nearly as wide. Hands large enough to enwrap a human head knuckle up in balled fists large than most mace heads. Nothing is meant to get past the awesome force of this spirit. |
| Goru-Nezar | This massive ogre-mage warlord wears a wicked-looking spiked plate ensemble, and bears a sapphire-orbed staff. Incredible muscles strain under his clothing, and the hatred in his eyes is both ferocious and disconcerting -- there is cunning there as well as sheer brutality. |
| Grall | A rumbling growl accompanies the vicious claws that appear from the forepaws of this orange and white mottled feline. The cat's penetrating eyes, one sea-blue the other a hazel green, bore deep into your soul looking for fear. The beast prepares to pounce. |
| Greasy Thief | This sleasy bastard sits here with an insolent grin. He is just asking to get the tar beaten out of him. As you approach, he spits on the ground, and lazily waves to his wares for sale. |
| Greater Hellhound | This huge, powerfully-built beast appears to be part dog, and part demon. Its thick pelt is a glossy black, and its long teeth and claws glimmer whitely. A wisp of smoke trails from the corner of its mouth, and it eyes you with unnerving intelligence. |
| Greater Hellion | This twenty-foot-tall monstrosity is some sort of demon of fire. Its dull red body is powerfully musculed, and is covered in long black spikes. Long curved horns adorn its head. The hellion is shrouded in flame, and it glares at you with a look of unspeakable evil. |
| Greater Salamander | This gigantic monster has a hideous human-like torso, head of fire, and arms that have a dark, coppery sheen. The lower half of its body is a red dragon serpent, with a strong and flexible tail. It holds a large pitchfork in its hands, and eyes that burn a dark, evil light. |

| Greedy Healer | This money-grubbing loser has no good qualities whatsoever, aside from his ability to heal. His only love is money, and if there is a sick person on his doorstep who could not pay, not only would he not help, he would kick the person back into the gutter. |

to evaluate how much cash is jingling in there. He starts into a monotonous
speech as you get near, saying:

| Guard Dog #1 | This large, vicious creature is as large as a wolf, and appears to be a cross of two or more of the most dangerous breeds of hounds. Its dirty grey-black pelt is covered in mangy patches, and it snaps wildly at you with bloodlust in its eyes! |
| Guard Dog #2 | This powerful, aggressive dog is carefully trained to detect intruders. With keen hearing and a sensitive sense of smell, it is nearly impossible to escape detection when this animal is around. |
| Guard Sergeant | The sergeant of the stronghold guards is a large, clever brute who enjoys nothing more than a good fight. He is barbed in heavy leather armour, and wields a large scimitar. |
| Guardian Beast | This eight-foot monstrosity looks like something out of a nightmare. Its skin is jet black, and its head is nothing more than a lump peeking out of its barrel-like chest. Glowing amber eyes peer out above a wide mouth filled with sharp, thick teeth. |
| Guardian Golem | This appears to be a tall, heroically-proportioned stone sculpture of a man-like creature. Its rough, chiseled features are set in a fierce scowl. You see a slight gleam of something deeply imbedded beneath the stone surface of its chest. |
| Guardsman | This is a fierce-looking guardsman. He wields a drawn broadsword and carries a round shield, and his well-polished chainmail armor gleams in the light. Guardsmen are known to be excellent fighters, and are more than a match for most lesser adversaries. |
| The guardsman looks you up and down, and says in a firm voice, "Greetings, citizen. Obey the laws of Silvermere and I shall have no quarrel with thee. Go in peace." | |
| Guildmaster | This large, plain-looking man is garbed in fine clothing. His features are thick and solid, as if he were made of stone. He looks like a very sober man, but not unkind, and his eyes twinkle wiht a light that belies his age. |
| Gulgulthra | This bloated, sluglike creature is covered in a thick layer of scaly hide. Ringing his round head are many long, rubbery tentacles, each tipped with a razor-sharp claw. His gaping three-part mouth is filled with serrated teeth, and his cluster of eyes glare out evilly! |
| Gurbultis | Gurbultis is quite short, even for a gnome, but more than makes up for this fact in pure volume. He is very fat, and wears thick violet robes and golden chains and rings of all sizes and types, so that he jangles with each movement. He has a sullen, brooding look. |
| Gurbultis's jowls flap as he breaks into a wide grin. He bellows, "Welcome to this humble store, adventurer! Our steelware is the finest in all of Silvermere, and you will find no better price!" He gives you a sly wink and says, "Of course, it helps to have cornered the market, if you catch my meaning. Please, feel free to browse through our fine collection of armour!" He waves his hands about expansively, gesturing towards the racks and display cases filled with shining steel wares. | |
| Gypsy Spirit | Before you stands the image of a goblin, dressed in brightly colored clothes and bearing a broadsword across its back. He grins easily at your approach, and with an elaborate flourish, bows in greeting. |
| Half-Ogre Bodyguard | This huge warrior is unmistakeably a half-ogre, as his 7 foot tall frame clearly shows. He looks strong enough to snap a human in two. He is clad in leather armor and wields a massive hammer. |
| Half-Ogre Guard | Chosen because they are smarter than their hobgoblin and ogre compatriots, the half-ogres play the roles of guards here. Wielding heavy bastard-swords in one hand, and armored with spiked shields and iron scalemail, they present difficult foes. |

| Half-Ogre Warrior | This huge half-ogre wears brigandine armor, and wields a massive maul as if it were a light club. It grins at you stupidly from beneath its helm. |

| Half-Orc Sentry | This tall, ugly creature has the features of a human, but the cunning and ferocity of an orc. Used as lookouts because of their greater discipline and perception, they are not quite as tough as their full-blooded orcish brethren. |
| Handsome Man | This incredibly handsome man is a vision of perfection. He wears long white robes, and has an expression of ultimate serenity and happiness upon his face. He carries a bowl of delicious-looking fruit in his hands. |
| Hanging Cocoon | This roughly man-sized cocoon hangs lifelessly from a thick strand of webbing. The entire cocoon is coated in some kind of very sticky liquid, and a steady drip from the hanging mess has formed a small pool underneath it. |
| Harpy | This filthy beast looks like a cross between a human woman and a large carrion bird. Her greasy feathers are a grey-brown in color, and her hooked talons look extremely sharp. Harpies are known to be the most unclean of creatures, often infecting their victims. |

| Haunting Spirit | This wispy, translucent apparition is bound to this area in death, and wails mournfully. |

| Hellhound | This nightmarish creature looks at first glance to be a huge wolf with greasy black fur. It is hideously misshapen, however, having glowing crimson eyes and unnaturally large fangs. It wears a spiked iron collar around its neck, in some sort of parody of domesticity. |

| Hideous Abomination | This gargantuan beast is covered with black, rubbery skin and wickedly-curved spines. Many serpentine tentacles sprout from its hunched back, and its eyeless head is wide and blunt-nosed. Its mouth is filled with fangs and is large enough to swallow someone whole. |
| High Druid | This tall, dark figure is garbed in a robe of deep grey, with silvery runes about the cuffs and hem. A long white beard flows from the depths of the hood, and glittering eyes peer at you evilly. The high druid holds a wicked-looking golden sickle with a shimmering edge. |
| High Priestess | Before you stands one of the most feared creatures in the dark-elf society - the royal priestess. She is dressed in robes of the deepest black and in one hand she holds a rune-etched sceptre. Her eyes are bottomless pools of darkness and her gaze chills you to your soul. |
| Hill Centaur | This fierce, territorial centaur warrior roams the hills protecting the boundaries of his tribe. He is garbed in leather armor and wields an impressive composite bow. Centaurs are known to have explosive tempers when provoked, and trespassers are not tolerated. |

| Hill Giant | This huge sixteen foot simian creature has long forearms that droop down to his knees. The only protection he has is sewn together animal hides and his only weapon is a huge gree branch that he carries over his shoulder. Despite this, you know he is formidable. |

| Hill Giant Shaman | This huge sixteen foot humanoid is dressed in many colored animal skins and pelts. You can tell by the bone trinkets and fur pouch that he has at his waist that he is a shaman of his people. As you look at his black eyes, you see a glimmer of zealous furor. |

| Hobgoblin | This tall, brutish figure is unmistakeably a hobgoblin. Its cruel eyes glare out at you evilly from its helm, and it hefts its heavy flail with malice. |

| Hooded Traveller | This odd-looking stranger wears riding leathers, and is shrouded in a heavy cloak with a hood, which obscures all the facial details, but from the powerful build and body shape it could only be an adult man. His glittering eyes peer out at you from the depths of his hood. |
| The hooded traveller looks you up and down slowly, his odd bright eyes
glittering like gems from beneath his hood. He speaks with a great rumbling
voice, murmuring a wry welcome, and the almost hypnotic sound of it brings up
images of deep, secret caverns, and exotic far-away lands. There is definitely
something of the mystical about this being, and when he opens his mouth again,
you are transfixed and can do nothing but listen to what he has to say:
"Now who may ye be, wonder I," he says, as if speaking to himself, "and with master Gaal, what be ye business. Adventure be ye goal, perhaps? Excitement and intrigue to liven up ye limited time in this plane? Be that ye intent, Bound One, and all ye hast to do is inquire about a quest, for indeed Gaal has a bit of a journey for ye, if 'tis a journey ye seek." <Game note: if you ask about 'quest', you will embark on the mission, and you will not be able to participate in the Good or Evil quests. | Hordeling | This vicious beast stands only three feet tall, and runs about with great speed on thin, muscular legs. Its arms are long and sport wicked-looking claws, while two gleaming green eyes peer at you out of its head. Needle-like fangs line its wide mouth in triple rows. |
| Horned Demon | This towering demon has brilliant yellow skin and two sharpened sets of antlers that branch out from the sides of its head. Its powerful arms have long, hooked claws, and its glaring black eyes have no hint of mercy in them. |
| Huge Basilisk | This massive beast is nearly fifteen feet in length, and resembles a brown-black giant lizard. Its eight short legs are thick and strong and its toothy maw filled with razor-sharp fangs. It hangs its heavy head, and its large lidded eyes seem to be staring at the ground. |
| Huge Dwarven Witchunter | This massive, scary-looking dwarf is nearly as tall as a man. He is literally rippling with muscles, and looks like he could tear you in two. He is garbed in an exotic suit of armor, and wields a strange glittering sword. |
| Huge Fungus Creature | This hulking creature appears to be part beast, part fungus... it is humanoid, with a jutting head, long arms and stumpy legs. Vicious talons spring from its fingertips. It is covered with a thick layer of all manner of fungus, and it is hard to tell if it is even alive. |
| Huge Obsidian Golem | This twenty-foot-tall construction resembles a human garbed in strange, exotic armor. In one fist it grasps a heavy sword, whose edge appears razor-sharp. Small spikes cover its entire body. Up the center of its breastplate, strange angular runes are carved. |
| Huorn | The huorns are the semi-intelligent trees of the forest. They are not truly sentient, but obey the commands of the intelligent trees. All huorns are tough and slow, but can make formidable opponents. |

| Hydra | This monstrous, reptilian beast has thick scaly skin that glistens with oily secretions. It has many heads attached to long, serpentine necks, that act independently of the body. Hydras have incredible regeneration and are rumoured to be able to regrow their heads. |
| Hydra Head | Each head of the monstrous hydra has beady, glowing red eyes, and a gaping maw full of wickedly curved teeth. Atop a serpentine neck, each head can attack a different target, in any direction. |
| Ice Golem | This giant human-like contraption has been made from solid ice. It moves quite slowly, but its chiseled arms look big enough to crash an ogre's head in its arms. |
| Ice Sorceress | This beautiful, but menacing woman appears to be made of ice. She moves gracefully, and her violet robes flutter gently over her almost perfect figure. In her right hand she clutches a sceptre made of a dark blue glass, which she handles with great care. |
| Imp | This hideous little creature flies around on reddish bat wings. It leers at you evilly with its grotesque demon face, and flicks its scorpion tail at you. Imps are known to be quite evil, and while not as powerful as some demons, still dangerous to the unwary. |
| Insane Mage | This leering, maniacal figure runs about in tattered clothes. Driven insane by drawing too much magic, he was institutionalized. Eventally the twisted forces leaking from his shattered mind warped the very reality of the asylum, turning into a realm of nightmares. |
