Sysop: Wombat
Non-Pvp and Pvp
Pay

Everytime I visit this board, it gets better and better. I actually had to revisit this board to write my review and then again before uploading this. My first visits were several months ago, and I was not too impressed with what I saw (mainly topic of conversation and an ambiguous unwritten policy for sys goto). All I can say is this is a completely different board in many ways this go around.

The biggest change has been the addition of a second Mud game, this time Pvp. Once you have paid for an account, you are then allowed to create a second account. There is a maximum of 2 connections per IP allowed here. No playing mudops or sysops, but they may drop by for an occasional visit. Currently, this game is set to 10 levels. Pvp requires a second log-in and is run on a DMA server. The top 10 ranges from about 378 million to about 135 million. This is clearly a popular game, with about 30 accounts online.

First, the website has been completly redone. Nice layout, with the board and Realm rules clearly posted. Before you play here, you really do need to read them. They do have some different takes on things like not selling a limited item. The board will give you sys goto for free if you are over level 35 - otherwise, it is $20.00 per character. Fees range from $5/month to $25/year per playing character. Lifetime accounts are also available - be sure to check the Prices section of the website. This same page also states clearly that you are allowed 4 connections per IP for Non-pvp and 2 for Pvp.

The playing environment in Non-Pvp is quietly dignified. I was given coins to start, which was very nice. Most users that were on when I was were 25 and under with very few over 30. It was quite refreshing to see items in the blue tower shop with an active user base of 30+ characters. Top ten at this time ranges from 6 billion on down to just under 2 billion. The board does feature a Sysbot - basically, a non-playing mudop-character that will retrain you, add a life, or change your sex just for the asking. Another huge plus is that I was left to do my own thing - I was not hounded for power leveling, or tossed tons of items.

The connection is better than average, and has been checked over dial-up and T-1 connection speeds. I have noticed very little lag at any time I have tried, or from any source. The board itself is attractive, clean, and neat. Mud is very easy to find. One of the things that sets this board apart from all others is the contests (Win TLord, and your reward is a year of Mud access that you can divide as you please.). Always something going on, and the rewards are usually access time.

All in all, this board is well worth the visit. The few negatives I have encountered on prior visits were no longer in evidence, and this board stands out as a clean, professionally run board. Anything that is to be changed or added is voted on among the users of the BBS, and the time put into this board clearly shows. The boards do have the latest version and patches installed.
