Just when you all thought you had gotten rid of me, guess what... I'm back! Our realm has been so peaceful and quiet lately, but we have lots of newcomers and a few dearly departed souls. We also just annexed a whole new area, so I know we shall soon have news and adventures from that corner of the realm.
My year of mourning is just about over... yes, a long, quiet, sad year. My time with my beloved cleric was all too short it seems. M'Lord Udol and his companions were summoned to a distant part of the realm to negotiate a treaty with a horde of unruly orcs. What nobody knew was that it was a trap, and that these orcs had banded together with several other bands of scum with the soul purpose of killing M'Lord. A full dozen of our biggest, meanest went to that peace conference, and it appears that only the smelly dwarf, Mojo, and that regal mystic, Cyrus, survived. One of the last sights reported was of our skirt-wearing Tanis entering the hall with Cheeks chittering madly from his shoulder...
The hardest losses for me have been M'Lord Udol and his faithful companion, Zaknafein. Not a day goes by that I don't miss M'Lord deeply. Odd, but I miss that funny skirt-wearing druid, too. The most disturbing thing to me is how much I miss my father - the one I barely had a chance to know. It is said that the druid and his squirrel were buried together - what was left of them both. I had been told at first that my beloved high cleric was gravely wounded, but now it also appears that he has gone from this realm for good.
Several of the newcomers seem anxious to take the places of our fallen heroes, and are quickly making names for themselves in feats of bravery and sheer bravado. Even our Sinnamon and Serpent are back, along with Leaf. StoneCold was stoned and cold after the giants were finished with him, without Andre or John or even ... drat it! I can't remember the other guy's name ... in sight. StoneCold is pushing up daisies tonight.
That chittering squirrel also has met his match in Zabu, the lemur. I do have to admit that watching the lemur race around and get into mischief has even made me smile. Just today, he almost had me laughing out loud. A group were out trying to slaughter a dragon when a call of nature overcame the little fella. Guess he decided to let loose in the one thing that smelled familiar to him.. the hairy dwarf's boot! You could hear that dwarf yell for miles! On such a cold day, you would think he would be grateful for a warm place to put his foot. I know it could not have smelled any worse than normal!
Thibledorf, M'Lord's successor as High Cleric, has been a hoot to watch. I know he and his party were busy slaughtering a never-ending nest of poisonous spiders when he kept wandering off to ... Silvermere! Guess he was looking for a can of bug spray at the general store! If he wasn't there, then he and his mystical sidekick, Dingledorf, were knocking on the door to Kuel.. with no key. What some guys will do to get out of their chores! Thibledorf.. what kind of name is that? Hardly dignified enough to take M'Lord's place!
Sheeeeeeena and her companion Nzania are rather new to the realm. Poor thing is always searching for her deathpile somewhere, or the lag monster that got her. At least the lag monster doesn't bite her as hard has he bites Ptrauge! Hardly a day goes by that the stenchy one doesn't bite the dust at the hand of the lag monster. What he really needs is to bite a shower - and take that steenky hairy dwarf with him!
We also have a group who seems to have come into the realm from some rather unworldly areas. They have been in a deep spell of sleep, or out gazing at the stars far too long, for they have forgotten much about our fair realm. They are learning fast, and seem to be losing their alien ways quickly. So many new faces.. and I have been back from my seclusion for only a short while now. I will have more intros and news in the upcoming weeks, I am sure.
Whew! A long post for this first time back. Now that I am free to move about the realm again, it is time that I took my former name back... it will not be so long between my posts this time!
